"The Finest Example of a Tool Chest", a piano maker’s perfectly crafted tool chest.
20”wx39”hx9”d, the chest holds some 300 tools and was built by master carpenter, stonemason, and piano-maker H.O. Studley. It’s so dense with tools it takes 3 men to lift (better have a strong wall!), and is constructed of mahogany, rosewood, walnut, ebony, and mother of pearl. The tolerances are so tight that pieces snap into place. Here is a short article and here you can find an image of it at 1280x1024 . It’ now on loan from a private collector in the smithsonian.
